Health & Care Worker Visa
This visa has replaced the Tier 2 (General) work visa.
A Health and Care Worker visa category allows medical professionals to come to or stay in the UK to do an eligible job with the NHS, an NHS supplier or in adult social care.
The NHS is the largest single employer in the UK, employing over a million people, five per cent of the UK's working population.
Visa program permit you to apply for Citizenship after holding permanent residence for at least 1 year and living in the UK for at least 5 years.
Visa Validity: 3-5 years
Processing Period: 3 months
To qualify for a Health and Care Worker visa, you must:
Be a qualified doctor, nurse, health professional or adult social care professional.
Work in an eligible health or social care job.
Have No Criminal Record
Work for a UK employer that’s been approved by the Home Office.
Be paid a minimum salary
Have a confirmed job offer
Prove Knowledge of English (speak, read, and write)
Have a ‘certificate of sponsorship’ from your employer with information about the role you’ve been offered in the UK.
Single Applicant visa fee’s:
£232 per person (up to 3 years in the UK)
£464 per person (3 years plus in the UK)
Maintenance Requirement: £1,270
Original bank statements should be provided as proof that the required level of funds have been available to the applicants for at least 28 consecutive days.
You may be able to include your partner and children in your application if they are eligible. Eligibility for a dependent visa is limited to immediate family members of individuals only.
You’ll need to apply to extend or update your visa when it expires or if you change jobs or employer.
*You can apply for a visa 3 months before the day you are due to start work in the UK. Your start date will be listed on your certificate of sponsorship.
